Swimming

We consider Swimming to be an essential part of physical education. It is compulsory for our Primary students students but optional for “Kindergarten”.

Swimming takes place once a week on Thursday morning, at the excellent UB Sports, Av Diagonal 695

Roller Skating

Roller Skating is an exercise that with its characteristics, stimulates both the body and maturity of mind promoting balance, agility and flexibility.

This is optional from K5, combining Artistic Skating as well as Hockey.

This activity takes place during the lunch break period, two hours weekly, Tuesdays and Thursdays, in the school’s own and once a month (always on Saturday mornings) at a large rink.

Chess

We consider that Chess is a stimulating mental exercise which also involves stretching the mind in an enjoyable way. This is an optional activity which takes place after the school day (from 17:30 to 18:30hs), once a week on the school premises.

Our Chess team also takes part in Interschool Championships. We’ve been champions “Millor escola d’Escacs de Barcelona” during the last two years

Taekwondo

Martial arts, most of them originated in Asia, are an ancient method of training your mind, body and spirit to act as one. Martial arts practitioners strive for harmony, but also learn effective self-defense techniques. Children who get involved in martial arts reap many benefits in several areas of life.

The Bike-ride

In June, on the last Wednesday of the school year, the graduating class 6 go on a mountain bike ride through Collserola, with their teachers Miss Lore and Mr Ignacio.

“La Cursa”

The students of Primary and Secondary school and many parents, former pupils and teachersparticipate in other championships between different schools, for example “La Cursa Pàlcam”, a yearly competition on the Sunday before the Easter Holiday.
